As part of our broader work, our India team is conducting research to explore how image-based sexual abuse manifests within the country and what the barriers are to achieving justice. This work is being conducted in collaboration with our India research partner, One Future Collective. The survey will help us understand the practical ground realities of this issue in India as well as the challenges faced by survivors and by practitioners working with survivors of image-based sexual abuse. The results of the surveys will be analysed to identify the gaps in the law itself and in its implementation, with a view to issue recommendations for advocacy, policy and legislative changes in India. This will not only assist us in making our work more relevant to those working on tackling image-based sexual abuse but also allow us to push for meaningful reform that brings about lasting change.
